VACCINATION buses hit the road in north Shropshire today, as the roll-out of this year's autumn Covid vaccine boosters gathers pace.
Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Clinical Commissioning Group announced at the beginning of the year that as part of its vaccination measures a new bus would be brought in to expand its reach.
In September a booster campaign was launched across Shrosphire, available for everyone aged 50 and over as well as people who are most at risk.
Today, September 28, they started hitting the road, and they will be heading to more north Shropshire destinations next week..
18+ boosters and autumn boosters will be available at:
- Ellesmere Fire Station, Grange Road, SY12 0AU- Monday, October 3, from 11am until 4pm;
- Whitchurch Fire Station, Bridgewater Street, SY13 1QL- Wednesday, October 5, from 11am until 4pm.
- Only for Autumn boosters for adults, the buses will also visit Loppington Village Hall, SY4 5SG, on Wednesday, October 5, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
The drop-ins are offering Covid-19 vaccines to those who are eligible without booking.
You do not need to be registered with a GP, have proof of address, immigration status, ID or an NHS number, but a few personal details may be taken so that they have a record of who has been vaccinated.
Walk-in and pop-up clinics may be limited to an allocated number of vaccines, and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Clinics may close early if all allocated vaccine has been used, and they aren’t open to everyone – for instance, some are open just for boosters ONLY, and not 1st, 2nd and 3rd doses.
It is advised that you read the clinic details carefully before you decide to go
