A FIRE chief warned Oswestry residents to be careful on their way to work this morning after the basement of a town centre shop flooded.
James Lewis, crew manager at Oswestry Fire Station, shared a video on Twitter of his colleague's efforts to clear the basement of the Home Bargains shop on Bailey Street, which contains an electrical sub station and was five feet of water.
He said the incident was affecting electrical supplies in the town.
Be careful on your way to work this morning, fire crews are in attendance at an electric sub station on Willow street (home bargain basement) which is under 5 feet of water and is affecting the electrical supply in Oswestry.

Crews were called shortly before 5am on Monday (September 26) morning to the incident.
The video on Twitter shows pumps working to clear the water out of the basement and onto Willow Street, however this has left water in the road.
The electricity board is also in attendance.
