AN OSWESTRY eatery has won a prestigious food award for their striking culinary excellence.
The Old School House, based near St Oswald's Church, won the Good Food Award 2023 for the commitment and dedication they have put into the business every day.
A spokesperson for the cafe/restaurant/bar said via Facebook: "The hard work that goes on behind the scenes in order to deliver our product, you may not realise, it’s especially difficult in this current climate where the cost of running the business has rocketed beyond belief."

They added that they want to thank all the suppliers that have provided products at an excellent standard, and whose service was a big contribution to them winning.
"For a young business to achieve such a thing is quite something, and it reflects the commitment and dedication we put in every day," they added.
The spokesperson said that serving their customers is the easiest and most enjoyable part, adding: "The biggest thank you to everyone who walks through the door and gives us a try, so many of you have become valued regulars and friends, and your ongoing support is greatly appreciated."
