AN OSWESTRY woman will have to cough up more than £700 after she was found to have evaded paying a train fare of just £43.
Ruhena Begum, 36 and of Morda Road, appeared before Swindon Magistrates Court last week and was fined £440 for failing to purchase a ticket and intended to avoid payment on February 15 this year.
The court heard that she travelled on Great Western Railway at Swindon and did not buy a ticket.
Miss Begum was fined £440 and ordered to pay £180 costs, compensation of £43.40 – the price of the ticket – plus a victim surcharge of £44.
