THE OWNER of a new shop in Oswestry said it is 'nice to be back in the town' after opening his store.
Wayne Scott is the owner of Your Mug On A Mug, in Beatrice Street and the shop was officially opened by the mayor of Oswestry, Councillor Jay Moore, on Saturday, August 13.
Your Mug on a Mug is a gift shop which sells personalised gifts and Wayne previously had a place in the market and he said had been looking for a place in the town.
He added: "It is nice to be back in the town, I did have a place in the market just before lockdown.
"I have been looking for a place in the town for a while and this came up.
"I did look round the town. The busiest streets are Bailey Street and Church Street but the price of rent there is big."
The shop owner said he there were two printers who had been based in Bailey Street, which motivated him to open the store in its current location and Wayne added he wanted to put an empty shop to use and felt the high street was picking up.

He explained: "I have had new customers through the door.
"I have seen the footfall, I did do some planning before.
"I saw which were the busiest streets and a lot of people still seem to be using the town for shopping.
"Oswestry is market town, I just wanted to get another empty shop open again.
"It is picking up I think, this end of town, I know there is a lot of people coming round here now.
"I thought it was the right time to come back into town."
The Your Mug On A Mug owner said he prints logos on different items including t-shirts and mugs and it can be personalised.
He explained: "If people come with their own logos, I put them on t-shirts, mugs etc.
"I do different designs on there and wording. I sell a lot of things like Regatta clothing.
"Anything you see here can be personalised. I do a lot of things for pets and for memorials as well.
"I try to offer a personalised service. You just listen to what the customer wants and try to develop from there."
