A LEVEL results day is here and the Oswestry area couldn't be prouder of its students.

Students and schools around the area were celebrating some big achievements, with many looking ahead to September and a fresh challenge either at university, or on apprenticeship schemes.

After two years of restrictive learning due to Covid-19, pupils passed the finish line with flying colours.

Alison Pearson, headteacher for The Marches School, said: "It has been the first time that some students had to sit in-person exams.

"We walked them through really carefully and got them where they needed to be.

"It has been a really high moment, it's been brilliant." she added.

Some of the top students at The Marches included Robbie Ackerman, who will be going to Cambridge University to study maths after receiving three A*.
