RESIDENTS in Oswestry have been reacting to the news that a teenager was stabbed in the town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Three teenagers – two Oswestry males aged 16 and 18 – and a Shrewsbury woman aged 19 were arrested for the attack in Welsh Walls within Brynhafod Park.

The park is a popular spot for dog walkers and The Advertizer caught up with people who were shocked to hear the news.

Julian Francis, from Trefonen, regularly walks his dog in the park and admitted he never thought it would happen in Oswestry.

He said: "You never expect this would happen here.

"I used to go to high school here.

"It is a great area for both dogs and the public.

"I moved back here from Birmingham for more peace and tranquillity."
