FARMERS and traders have hailed the opportunity they were given to show live stock and products to the public at the Oswestry Show.

The popular agricultural show took place on Saturday, August 6 and many people turned up to enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the food and drink on offer and get up close to the animals.

For some farmers like Kelly Seaton from Audlem, this was the first show they had been two in two years and Kelly said it her first time in Oswestry and it was an excellent opportunity for people to get up close to animals.

"The ewe came third and the ram lamb, Elvis came first in the ram lamb class.

"We have been in sheep farming since 2018, so not very long.

"Everyday is a school day, you learn something everyday.

"Wensleydales are a rare breed and we breed them for their fleece, I am a hand spinner and I think it is really important to put the rare breeds on the map and lots of people have come up to us because they have not seen a Wensleydale before.

"So it has been nice to talk to them about the breed and the fleece and what you can do with it."
