There were smiles all round as Oswestry Show got underway this morning.
Our photographer Phil Blagg has been out on site for the Advertizer this morning, taking some initial pictures of all the happy faces – as well as some of the winners in the horse classes.
The show has not been held for the last two years, as the Covid pandemic put paid to major events, so its return was warmly welcomed.
Our reporter on the scene David Newman says there are big crowds of people turning up to enjoy the atmosphere.
"There are huge crowds continuing to pour into the showground," he said.
"This is the first show since 2019, and you can tell that people are really enjoying themselves at different food and drinks stalls, seeing the animals brought along by the farmers and asking lots of questions.
"It's great to see, and the atmosphere so far has been really warm and positive. It's a great welcome back."
