The 48th anniversary Graham Edwards Memorial Trophy tournament ended on Sunday with Gobowen Celtic beating old rivals St Martins on penalties in the final front of a crowd of around 450 at a sunny Gobowen Playing Field.
Celtic threatened early on with Dave Hartshorn's cross from the left turned wide by Chariie Morris.
The best chance came the Saints' way in the 32nd minute when Max Evans' corner from the right to the far post found Oliver Humphreys was turned around the post by Gobowen keeper Jonny Mitchell.

A good chance came Gobowen's way in the 41st minute when Joe Pierpoint shook the post from 25 yards.
Gobowen almost got the second-half off to dramatic start when Luke Dwyer's low infield from the right found Joe Pierpoint who was frustrated.
Gobowen went close to breaking the deadlock just before the end of the 80th minute with Pierpoint once again firing wide.

Pierpoint continued to be dangerous in extra-time and was denied by the woodwork midway through the first-half while Logan Richards went close for the Saints only to be denied by Jonny Mitchell.
The match was decided by penalties with Ed Rogers, Pierpoint and Luke Dwyer on target while the Saints missed three penalties saved as Celtic celebrated victory in the annual summer cup for the first time since 1993.

Captain Ed Rogers was presented with the impressive trophy by Wrexham midfielder Luke Young, who made the presentations.
The Steve Roberts of the Match Award was won by Rogers while the the Daniel Oakley Golden Boot Award for the leading scorer for the tournament was won by Logan Richards of St Martins.

There were special surprise long service awards for Ian Sutton to mark his 25 years cf having refereed in the tournament and for Graham Edwards Memorial Trophy chairman Wayn Martayn.
All the money raised from tournament going to Leukaemia Research with the exact amount of money raised yet to be confirmed.
