THERE are stories that are little bit left-field and some that are down right 'nuts' – especially when there is a squirrel involved.
Householders in parts of Ellesmere were left without power on Friday morning, all thanks to an inquisitive blighter who had managed to find its way into an electricity transformer.
This then resulted in power supplies being cut off for about an hour in the Hillcrest estate area, but was restored just after midday.
SP Energy spoke to a resident to confirm why the power had been switched off.
They said: "SP Energy Networks contacted you earlier today due to an emergency fault affecting the supply to your property.
"The fault was due to a squirrel getting into a transformer and supplies were restored in stages with all power restored by 12.07pm."
