A FOUR-YEAR-OLD from Gobowen has walked 50 miles in June to raise money for his pre-school that has been forced to move home.
George Martayn is doing the best he can to save Gobowen All Rounders, after learning that it would be evicted from its current site at the village primary school.
But undetered he set out to fundraise by talking on a walking fundraiser.
George's mum, Carrie Martayn, said: "He really likes the school and the teachers, so he wanted to do something to help.
"He really enjoys walking, and it was a plus for us that he could do it with anyone while releasing some of the youthful energy."
They decided that 50 miles was going to be enough, while also honouring the 50 years the nursery has been running for.
Carrie added: "We have set up an online GoFundMe page, and gathered £405, which should hopefully be a start for the pre-school to find a new place."
Since George began his fundraising challenge, it has been confirmed that Gobowen All Rounders has a new home at All Saints Church Hall - where it was first based when it started 50 years ago - but with reduced hours.
"It is doing a full circle, but they still need a more permanent position," said Carrie.
Families of the little ones and the school are planning fun days and other events to gather money for All Rounders, with a number of fundraising events in the future.
