AN OSWESTRY motorist who drove at 142mph has been banned from driving for three months.
Sam Thomas Hall was clocked travelling at twice the legal speed limit on the M1 motorway in Northampton in the early hours of August 8, last year.
The 27-year-old, who lives in Llanyblodwel, had been driving a Ford southbound between junctions 18 and 17, when he captured by an automatic camera at around 5.40am.
At Northampton Magistrates' Court, on Tuesday, July 26, Hall was told he would be banned from the roads from three months.
He had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing on April 29.
Magistrates said they would take Hall's guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.
They also fined him £397, and ordered he pay £90 court costs and a £39 victim surcharge, making a total of £526.
