THE MP for North Shropshire is on the hunt for a community farming hero.
The National Farmers' Union has launched a new award to celebrate the importance of individuals to farming and rural communities, and MPs have been asked to nominate a farmer from their constituency as a farming hero for 2022.
Helen Morgan is now looking for a representative from North Shropshire that she can put forward to be recognised and she is asking the public to put forward suggestions.
Mrs Morgan said: “Farmers are crucial pillars of our communities and deserve to be celebrated.
“Their hard work often flies under the radar so I want to do my bit to shout up and give them some well-earned recognition.
“I’m now looking for one farmer in particular who has gone the extra mile to nominate for the NFU’s Community Farming Hero Award.
“They might have gone out of their way to help neighbours, raised money for local charities or put in extra effort to maintain the local landscape.
“If you think a farmer you know in North Shropshire deserves to be recognised then please get in touch.”
Nominations are welcome from anyone and can be made by commenting on Helen’s pinned Facebook post or emailing helen.morgan.mp@parliament.uk
