OSWESTRY'S Borderland Rotary recently teamed up with Evastore Document Handling and successfully raised money for a local primary school.
The event, in aid of Holy Trinity Primary School in Oswestry, took place despite the gloomy weather at Morrisons car park on Friday, July 22, but that did not stop the attendees.
The big Evastore shedding truck had a busy day scrunching through about a quarter of a ton of paperwork and documents that the public brought to be shredded.
Vicky Bradbeer from Evastore said: “We really like doing events with Borderland Rotary, it gives us a chance to meet lots of people and help with community projects and, even in the rain, it was a great day’s work.
“Thank you to Morrisons for letting us use their car park, and for the coffee, and to Justin and the Borderland team for setting it up.”
The paper story does not end there though, as after the shredding it was sent to paper mills where it will be made into other paper products.
A spokesperson for the Rotary Club said: "This is a great example of practical recycling with no waste and nothing going to landfill."
