A YEAR five pupil from Oswestry organised a cake sell in aid of a child in the local community that suffers from ARFID.
Theo Lewis-Prior, student at Woodside School, sold cakes at break and lunchtimes, with the help of parents and staff for Finley, a five-year-old suffering from Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.
Theo will be hiking Snowdon over the summer holidays for the same cause.
He said: "I wanted to raise money because I wanted to help a child in our community. After a discussion with my mum, I decided that I could raise money by having a cake sale in school.
"I am really looking forward to hiking up Snowdon and can’t wait to do it!"
Theo's mum, Jazz, is very proud of him, and says there is no surprise that he was so empathetic when he found out about the child's condition.
She added: " It has been heart-warming and beautiful to see how much of a passionate and determined young man he is becoming and to watch his confidence and self-belief soar as he helps another person."
Theo has raised £730 so far with donations from his Just Giving page and the cake sale in school.
