THERE was a tiger loose in Oswestry's Cae Glas Park last week when the Attfield Theatre took to the stage for the Panto in the Park.
The popular group entertained crowds over both Saturday and Sunday last weekend when they gave a jungle-themed performance in weather conditions similar to tropical conditions.
Debbie Glenn, from the Attfield Theatre, said they were delighted to put on such a show in great conditions.
“On the hottest weekend of the year, the Attfield theatre took visitors to Cae Glas park on a hilarious journey to the Mowgli jungle," she said.
"'Rumble in the Jungle' written by Shaun Higgins saw four fun-filled performances over two days.
"The villain of the piece “Sheer Karnage “ a terrifying tiger (Kath Evans) had one aim and one aim only, to take over the jungle by any means.
"Luckily for the the jungle creatures, Damian (Jake Baker) the son of Dame Felicitis Kipling (Debbie Jones) a hapless jungle safari tour guide and Delilah (Katie Hubbard) the daughter of a local native tribal family (Michaela Turner, Rob Bound and Zac Mason)were set to defeat this killer kitty.
"Along the way Michaela turner had some very dubious culinary skills but they all managed to pull together and put a stop to Sheer Karnage’s bullying ways with the help of some very naughty monkeys (Claire Mason, Jake Dillon and Seb Boakes and a bunch of lost tourists including Angela Sampson,Lucinda Bound) all disguised as an extremely long and very yellow snake.
"Supported by a great crew of Andrew Turner, Ffin Dillon, Liz Franks, Helen Roberts and a host of Attfield stewards.”
