A CHARITY that supports people with Parkinson's Disease enjoyed a summer lunch to bring together those affected by the condition with a late Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Friends of Parkies met at the Stonehouse Brewery in Morda last week to enjoy a special lunch together after receiving vital sponsorship.
A spokesman for the group thanked those who supported them and hope to spread the word further about what they offer.
They said: "We are a small local charity called Friends of Parkies who provide support and information to anyone who is affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
"On Wednesday, July 13, we held a lunch party, at the Stonehouse Brewery in Morda, to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
"We were handsomely sponsored with 500 pounds towards this by NISA/Co-op.
"We would like to send a huge thank you to the sponsors and thought that the two pictures included with some editorial will be a good way to say it.
"More importantly to spread the word about how supportive Friends of Parkies is to people with the condition and their carers.
"Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, August 10 at 11am at the St Martins Community Centre, SY11 3AY.
"It is adjacent to Stans superstore.
