PEOPLE gathered in the centre of Oswestry as the town officially launched the Oswestry Food Festival 2022.
The festival is taking place on Saturday, July 9 and will finish on Sunday, July 10 and was officially opened by the mayor of Oswestry, Councillor Jay Moore.
A number of stores are located in the town centre and Cllr Moore said it is a fantastic event.
He added: "It is really nice to see, it is an event I have been looking forward to opening.
"I come to the food festival every year.
"As long back as I can remember, it is a fantastic event.
"Being able to come here and officially open it, it is an opportunity to do with the family as well.
"For me, this is a really nice one and beautiful weather for it, so I am hoping for a really positive day.
"We literally cut the ribbon moments ago and there are people up and down the streets.
"The numbers are just going to grow and grow.
"Obviously lunch time is when a lot of people are thinking, instead of their usual spots for lunch lets go and see what's on at the food festival today.
"I have even got family coming down from near Walsall and Birmingham to come specially for the food festival.
"So people really do travel to come and enjoy it."
