FIRE crews in Oswestry were called to deal with what appeared to be a small set of grass fires in the Porth-y-Waen area on Friday evening, July 8.
A large plume of smoke could be seen near Blodwell Hall, which prompted several calls to Oswestry Fire Station’s control room, the station said. A spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries.
“Fire crews have recently returned from Blodwell Hall, Porth-y-Waen, Oswestry,” Oswestry Fire Station posted on its Facebook page in the early hours of this morning.
“The call was classified as ‘smoke in the area’. A large dark plume of smoke could be seen from some distance, prompting several calls to be made to our control room.
“There were no injuries at this incident.”
