NORTH Shropshire has its fair share of Michelin Guide restaurants that you should definitely try.

Being in the Michelin Guide means that your restaurant/cafe has passed the five objective criteria, that, if passed, shows a sign of quality.

According to Michelin Guide the objectives are: "Quality of the ingredients used, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in his cuisine, value for money and consistency between visits."

Here are X restaurants from North Shropshire that fit that criteria and that you should definitely try:

  1. Docket No 33, Whitchurch

This restaurant is located in the market town of Whitchurch, and offers food made from the best local and season produce of Shropshire, Cheshire & the Welsh Borders, all put in a Tasting Menu by Stuart Collins.

Some dishes you might find at Docket No. 33 are: Chicken with spring onion, plum, smoked haddock, yoghurt and chive, Parsnip with miso, ginger and curry, and many more.

2. Wild Shropshire, Whitchurch

Whitchurch seems to be the hot spot for Michelin Guide restaurants. Wild Shropshire is about the terroir-led, micro-seasonal dishes, but they do not have an actual set menu. Their website says: "There is no menu, the food served on any particular night will be informed directly by what is outside in that moment." They created their dishes daily using ingredients from artisan producers and local growers.

Dishes you might find here, includes a plant-based menu and a meat one are: Sweetbread, Parsley, koji and Heritage radish, sourdough, parsley.

3. Sebastians, Oswestry

The Oswestry-based award winning restaurant, offers a cozy classical menu, put together by the Chef/Patron Sebastian Fisher. In the winter the eating experience happens inside, next to the open fire, and if in the summer it gets too hot, there is cozy terrace, where you can experience the monthly changing menu.

Housed in three 17C cottages, the restaurant has a long standing two AA Rosettes and two forks in the Michelin Guide, and many other amazing reviews.

This menu includes but it's not limited to: Mushrooms, garlic, cream, Roquefort cheese, watercress, Fillet of beef, spinach ricotta and beef rotolo, roasted beetroot, shallot puree, Madeira sauce and Fish medley, saffron potatoes, almonds, courgette, romesco sauce.
