IT'S not every day that one of the judges from the BBC's Masterchef pops in to your cafe.
But for one Oswestry cafe owner it happened not just once, but twice AND he received a rave review on social media as an added bonus.
Paul Kendrick first spotted TV personality Gregg Wallace on Central Car Park early on Tuesday (May 31) morning as he was preparing to open his White Horse Cafe based just across the road on English Walls.
But he admitted he didn't recognise him at first.
Paul said: "He came in this morning, it must have been 6.45am. I didn't really recognise him with his cap on. He asked if there was anywhere he could get something to eat and I said I didn't open until 9am but he could come in and get a bacon sandwich.
"I was talking to him and I still didn't realise who he was!"
Unbeknownst to Paul, Gregg took to his Instagram while he was in the cafe and revealed to his followers that after a mysterious day on Monday which he couldn't reveal details about, he was spending today in Shropshire "on a very different sort of adventure".
Paul said: "He was a lovely bloke, really down to earth. He said he would come back later and I think because I didn't recognise him he did."
Paul explained that as Gregg went to leave he took his cap off and the penny dropped.
He was later spotted around Oswestry filming and a few fans had their pictures taken with him in between takes.
Then this afternoon he returned to the White Horse Cafe for a meal of liver and onions which he reviewed for his Instagram followers, commenting: "Liver n Onions. White Horse Cafe Oswestry. Proper Cafe."
Paul said: "People recognised him this afternoon when he came in.
"He said that's the kind of food he likes, basic food. It was good to have him here."
Unfortunately, no details have been revealed about why Gregg was filming in Oswestry.
