A SUCCESSFUL festive bus service is being rolled out full-time providing a welcome boost to Oswestry businesses.

The Oswestry NightBus was launched by the town's Business Improvement District (BID) in 2019 and following a hiatus due to Covid-19 made a return to the town in 2021.

Now BID has confirmed the service has been expanded with a launch on Friday, April 1 running every Friday and Saturday until the end of the year.

A spokesperson for BID said: "Following the success of the Oswestry NightBus, the service has been expanded to two main services making it easier to enjoy Oswestry's wonderful eateries, pubs, cocktail bars and restaurants, and get home safely.

"So, whether you live on the outskirts of Oswestry, or around the town, check the timetable for your evening out."

The NightBus service is provided by Oswestry BID in partnership with Tanat Valley Coaches.

The new services will see a town circular, which will cost £3 per journey and will stop in Willow Street, Sainsbury's, before taking in a series of residential street including Unicorn Road, Balmoral Crescent and Llys Road. It will then stop at The Highwayman Pub, Table Table off Shrewsbury Road, Stonehouse Brewery in Weston and Morda before it returns to Willow Street.

Two existing services, the 403 and the 404 cover the Hampton Road and Old Fort Road areas of the town.

The village circular will cost £4 per journey and will begin at Tanat Valley's depot at Pentrefelin before stopping at locations including Llanfyllin, Llanymynech and Trefonen, before the bus then completes a circuit including Weston Rhyn, St Martins, Gobowen and Whittington. Some stops on the return journey of the village circular will be request stops only.
