RESIDENTS are reminded that Thursday (today) is the deadline for the closure of the consultation into having your say over the future of Oswestry.
The Oswestry Masterplan consultation will close at 5pm, meaning residents, business and visitors wishing to have their say over what changes are to be made to improve the town have a limited amount of time.
The consultations have been running for the last six weeks at venues across the town, including the library and the former Edinburgh Wool Mill shop at The Cross.
However, anyone wishing to register comments on Thursday will have to do so online.
Ed Potter, Shropshire Council’s deputy leader, and Cabinet member for economic growth, regeneration and planning, urged people to get involved.
He said: "We want to make Oswestry a better place to live, work and visit and a healthier and more sustainable town.
"The masterplan sets out the aims and aspirations we have for the future – but we need you to help us shape it.
"Four areas of focus have been identified where significant change is expected – the Cambrian Gateway, the Castle Quarter, the Church Street Quarter and the Mile End area.
"Some of the major ideas in the plan include considering options for the future redevelopment of the former Morrisons site, improving accessibility and connectivity, enhancing green and public space, bringing vacant properties back to use, managing car parking, strengthening the cultural offer, and better bus services."
