Oswestry 49
Yardley 5
IT WAS a case of third time lucky as Oswestry stormed to an emphatic win over Yardley to stay top of Midlands Four North North.
The match was finally staged after two earlier postponements and the home side dominated from the first whistle.
No8 Jack Morris created a path by pushing and handing off defenders before passing to young Jacob Jones to break the deadlock with Tom Hill converting.

The visitors were immediately under pressure following a probing kick by Hill in which the strong pack held together to push the visitors back and forward James Evans crossed for a try.
However the Yardley men were awarded a number of penalties and were able to get into the Oswestry half which culminated in an unconverted try to reduce the deficit to seven points.
Oswestry reacted well and mounted a great attack with Kele Raturoko going on a strong run before offloading to Rory Kershaw on the wing who was darted over for the third try.

Oswestry were now in the groove and back in the Yardley half where Tom Hill was just too fast and strong to be stopped and scored the fourth Oswestry try with the extras also added.
Half-time was looming when Joe Cassell added a fifth try to make the score 27-5 at the break.
The visitors were caught napping by a marvellous run by Mike Davies whose superb one handed pass to Jacob Jones saw the Eagles celebrate a sixth try.

Jones soon completed his hat-trick of tries as Oswestry flexed their attacking muscles.
The visitors put up some resistance but could not stop Cassell getting his second try before the rout was completed as Connor Blair charged through for a try which Hill converted.
The result saw Oswestry extend their lead at the top of the table to 10 points ahead of this week’s clash at Barton with the border side striving to open an unassailable advantage at the summit.
