A NEW book about a village on the Powys border will be officially launched next month.
'Llansilin, a Welsh village through time' has been written by Paul Hughes but it wouldn't have been possible without the help of a team of local historians who have been hard at working throughout the pandemic.
Mr Hughes grew up in Llansilin but now lives in Australia.
The book, which has been published by the Llansilin Local History Society, tells the story of Llansilin from early times to the present day and it includes many photographs, mostly in colour.
The launch event will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 7pm in the Village Hall, Llansilin.
Due to Welsh Covid rules and regulations, the number of people present at the launch will be restricted to the permitted number at that time.
Members of the public are therefore recommended to reserve a seat by telephoning in good time beforehand.
The event will include a presentation about the project by Paul Hughes and copies of the book will be available to buy at £10.
Later, copies will also be available from Llansilin Community shop which is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Any queries regarding the event and purchase of the book should go to Carys Evans, Cefn y Braich. Llansilin. Oswestry, SY10 7QQ.
