STORM Eunice has already begun to wreak havoc across north Shropshire after energy providers SP Energy Networks confirmed power outages in Ellesmere and Oswestry.
With the worst of the storm expected in the late afternoon, the energy company has confirmed power to properties in the SY11 and SY12 postcodes has been knocked.
A spokesman said the company is working as fast as it can to restore power to those areas.
They said: "There is a power cut in the SY11 and SY12 postcode areas of Ellesmere and Oswestry, affecting properties in Whittington, Lower Frankton and the surrounding area.
"Repairs are taking longer than expected because of a damaged overhead line conductor and our team are now working to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by midday.
"We will update this message if this information changes.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
