A PATIENT'S App that has worked successfully at Gobowen's Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital (RJAH) has been rolled out to the rest of the county's health structure.

The myrecovery patient app will be available to patients in all of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to support people with musculoskeletal conditions which affect joints, bones and muscles.

The platform, currently used by the RJAH, includes information to inform and empower patients through their treatment journey and enables them to remotely answer questions and enter symptoms so their care team can monitor their condition.

Kerry Robinson, senior responsible officer for the Transforming Musculoskeletal Services Programme says patients will be able to access a range of information, such as videos, articles and exercise routines to help them manage their condition, and track their progress.

“We’re thrilled to team up with myrecovery to be able to offer this great resource to our patients in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin," said Kerry.

“The rollout of this app is part of our bigger transformation programme for MSK, where we are planning to simplify the patient referral process, make it easier for people to move between our MSK services, and ensure that people have access to the same high standard of care wherever they live in the county.

“The app will allow our teams to tailor information and advice to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, whilst also enabling them to remotely monitor patient status and progress.”

The myrecovery app and msk.ai dashboard will also help the musculoskeletal teams when it comes to collecting and reporting data, helping staff to get a better understanding of patient disease progression, treatment outcomes, their performance and the care they provide.
