A ROAD near Baschurch will be closed for a day next week.
The closure will allow for repairs on Fitz Bridge, which carries a C classified road over the River Perry between Forton farm junction to the B5067 junction to Leaton.
It will take place on Friday, December 17.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said: "The work will involve parapet repairs, general repointing and vegetation clearance.
"Due to the nature of the repair work a road closure will be required between 9.30am and 4pm. While the road is closed, traffic will be diverted via local roads and the B5067 by a signed diversion.
"Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the works and access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure.
"Inevitably there will be some disruption during these works, for which we apologise in advance."
The works will be carried out by the council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
