PANTOMIME fans in Chirk will have a production to look forward to when the town’s theatrical group makes a post-pandemic return to the stage.
The Chirk Pantoholics were unable to perform on stage earlier this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but are set to return with a production of Sleeping Beauty next February.
Auditions took place earlier this week, with some new faces taking part.
Chairman Pat Owens is looking forward to seeing the group return to the stage at the start of next year.
She said: “We’re looking forward to it because last year we couldn’t do it which we were upset about.
“We’ve lost a few of our older members because a lot of them have gone to university, but we had quite a lot of new people turn up to audition which was nice.
“We have about 15 children involved in the junior chorus too.”
The cast has now been chosen ahead of the five-day stretch of shows beginning on Tuesday, February 22.
There will be one show each day from Tuesday to Friday, before two shows in the same day on Saturday, February 26 – a matinee and evening show.
Tickets are expected to go on sale after New Year.
