Public toilets and recreation areas have been closed in Ellesmere to ensure the town complies with the government’s advice regarding social distancing.
Ellesmere Town Council has announced the closure of Cross Street public toilets, King Fisher Walk play area and the play equipment in Beech Grove until further notice.
These public spaces, which were closed last week, are to help stress to people the importance of the three week lockdown imposed by the government to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
A statement from the town council says: “Parks and green spaces are still accessible in line with the Prime Minister’s permissible rules.
"However it is vital that people follow the government’s guidance and stay at least two metres apart, please do not congregate in large groups.
“We would like to remind you that you should be staying in your homes as much as you can and avoid social contact wherever possible.”
