Welcome to our first Trader of the Week section where we will meeting up with a business owner every week in and around the Oswestry Advertizer area.
This week, the Tizer called in for a chat with Tom at Liar Liar in Albion Hill, Oswestry.
Who are you and what do you do?
Tom Jones. Owner of coffee shop, Liar Liar.
How long have you been here?
We’ve been here three years, we opened in September 2016.
What do you offer to the people of Oswestry?
I hope we offer a space that’s welcoming, community-minded and quality-focused.
We source a lot of produce locally so that’s good.
What is your favourite part of the day?
I’d say the morning. We have some really nice ‘coffee mornings’.
We have our regulars who come in, a lot of them are retired and they’ll pop by and sit in for the morning and have a chat with us. It’s really nice.
What is your least favourite part of the day?
I’d say close down time is my least favourite part of the day. It’s all the routine work like cleaning everything down etc. I’m not really a fan of routine.
Do you have any advice for businesses, new or old, in Oswestry?
I’d probably say engage with other businesses.
Collaboration is key I think. It’s definitely strength in numbers.
As independents we’re all here together, to generate a market and serve the people of Oswestry.
I don’t see other businesses as competition, we’re in it together.
