A popular part of the paper is always our Bygones page and that proved true this week when one reader was taken on a trip down memory lane.
Wendy Williams called The Tizer office to answer our call for help naming and recognising men surrounded by a haul of trophies.
The picture, published three weeks ago, shows the Red Lion – now the Lime Kiln pub – darts team in Porth-y-Waen in what she thinks is the 1960/61 season.
Wendy – a former landlady of the pub and niece to Leonard Lewis, also a former landlord – says she was shocked to see so many familiar faces in the paper.
She added: "It was quite a surprise.
"But I must say it was nice to see their faces in the Bygones pictures but I suppose that's what the pages are for.
"At that time, the Red Lion had a great darts team."
Wendy was able to name at least half of the team:
Standing: Unknown, Ewart Jones, Jack Evans, Unknown, Unknown, George Jones, Unknown, Jack Lewis, Unknown and landlord Leonard Lewis.
Sitting: Phil Merris, Charlie Lawrence, Phil Beckett, Walter Humphreys and Bill Lewis.
