Every week we’ll be delving into our archives and asking you to take a trip down memory lane with us as we bring you a host of familiar faces from days gone by.

From school photos to annual events that still take place today, they’ll be plenty of nostalgia every week, and we hope you enjoy the journey.

For our second week we’ve decided to take a trip to Ellesmere.

As you can see our selection of pictures have a strong sporting theme including the town’s football team from the 1980s, cycling and canoeing - because you can’t forget the Mere.

It certainly looks like everyone was having a good time at the various events.
