THE town centre has been dealt another blow as a major retailer prepares to close its doors for the final time.
The Original Factory Shop (TOFS) in English Walls, Oswestry, looks set to close at the end of next week as part of a raft of store closures nationwide.
The Oswestry store is one of 32 TOFS outlets set to close after the business issued a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA).
The Whitchurch branch, which is set to escape the store cull, is the nearest store.
Ian Follington, chairman of the Oswestry Business Improvement District (BID) project, added: "From our point of view it's disappointing to see any business close in the town centre.
"It just makes it all the more important for BID to get with it and try to help the town move forward, try to find the appropriate investors to come to the town and try to fill in those gaps and benefit the whole community area."
