JOAN MAUREEN OLLERHEAD - of Salop Road, Oswestry passed away at the ITU Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Wednesday 20th April, aged 86 years. She leaves husband Roy, daughters Carole, Denise and Jeanette, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Maureen was born in London in August 1924 and on the outbreak of the last war joined the W.R.A.F. where she met Roy and married in May 1944. Maureen or 'Olly' as she was known worked as a Laboratory Technician at the Oswestry Boys' High School, for many years until her retirement. She was a familiar face on the Old Racecourse where she daily walked her dog.
The Humanitarian Service at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Wrexham was attended by Roy Ollerhead, husband; Carole and Melvin Gough, daughter and son in law; Denise and Alan Foster, daughter and son in law; Carl and Simone Turner, grandson and his wife; Loraine and John Roberts, granddaughter and husband; Thomas and Ryan Roberts, great grandsons; Garry and Julie Jones, grandson and wife; James Jones, great grandson; Tracy and Mat Deaville, granddaughter and husband; Barry and Tara Richards, grandson and wife; Amanda and Peter Curcic, cousin and husband. Other mourners were Gerald and Sarah Brown, Carmel Clarke, Ann and John Cleaton, Helen Cockburn, Imelda Cole, Jean Dallow, Jeremy Dell representing Alison and Oscar Dell, Beryl Wiseman and Jackie Morgan, Iorwerth and Jenny Edwards, Ivor and Margaret Gittins, Jean and Ted Gwilliam, Christine Healey, Sarah Hughes, Madge Jones, Ruth Morris, Helena O'Gorman, Cyril and Jennie Roberts, Reg and Peggy Foster, Ruth Walton, Robin and Lorraine Turner, Maxine and Lyn (Gorgeous), Nigel Strudwick and Graham Ord.
THANKS: Roy, Carole, Denise, Jeanette and family wish to express their thanks to everyone for the kindness and support extended to them in their recent sudden bereavement, for the many cards and messages of sympathy and the generous donations to I.T.U. at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
