Alfred James Brough (Fred) - The funeral has taken place of Alfred James Brough formerly of Whittington, who passed away at his home in Chestnut Avenue, Oswestry on October 15th 2011, aged 79 years (almost 80). He leaves wife Annette, son Terry, daughter-in-law Tracy, grandchildren Kelly and Ashley, great-grandchildren Olivia and Mason, stepchildren Rachel, Tracy and Greg, step grandchildren Hannah, Matthew, Amy, Harry, Debbie, Steven and Matthew, his brother George (unable to attend), brother-in-law Tucker (also unable to attend).
The funeral service at Whittington Church was conducted by the Reverend Mark Turner. Cremation was at Emstrey Crematorium, Shrewsbury.
Family mourners were Annette, wife; Terry and Tracy, son and daughter-in-law; Rachel, Tracy and Greg, stepdaughters and stepson and their partners Richard Claire and Rod; Hannah, Matthew, Amy and Harry, step grandchildren; Kelly, Ashley and partners, granddaughter and grandson; Olivia, great-granddaughter;Mason, great grandson; Ann, Emrys, Claire, Steve and Stuart, niece and family; Jean, Ian, Louise and Julie, niece and family; Ray, Eileen, Ed, Claire, Sally, Tony, nephew and family; Jean Jones, Anthony, Diane and family, sister-in-law, nephew and families; Diane Evans (and her mother Joan), great-niece; Peter and Erica, brother-in-law and partner; Dave and Jen from Portsmouth, brother-in-law and his wife; Diane Griffiths, sister-in-law to Annette.
Other mourners were: work colleagues from The Dairy, Llynclys Quarry and Shropshire Galvanizers. Many other mourners, far too many to mention and also Annette's work colleagues.
THANKS: Special thanks to our friends who frequently visited Fred and supported us through Fred's illness. To Nick, and all staff at the Boote Inn, Whittington for their kindness and sympathy. Thank you to everyone that I may have forgotten. I do appreciate and thank you all sincerely.
My thanks to Rev Mark Turner for a beautiful service and all his kindness shown to me and Terry and our families. Thanks to Dr. Treasure and all nursing staff who were involved in taking care of Fred and to everyone who helped with their kindness and support during our very sad time, especially all staff at David Davies & Sons for their compassion and profesionalism.
