MORE jobs will be open to the Oswestry community after one of its Aldi stores reopens next week after a refurbishment.

The supermarket’s Shrewsbury Road store will close for full refurbishment on Sunday, May 12 when it will undergo an intensive makeover in time to be reopened to customers on Friday, May 17.

And, according to a spokesman for the supermarket, the reopening will be marked by a number of special offers for drivers.

They said: “The upgrades will make for an all-round better shopping experience and a more sustainable store.

Changes include increased chiller space, complete with new fridge doors to reduce energy consumption, as well as additional room for Specialbuys and redesigned health and beauty and bakery sections for a modernised look.

“The store employs 32 colleagues, and the refurbishment will result in additional jobs being created at the Shrewsbury Road store.

“During re-opening week, the store will be offering a range of road trip essentials, including a dash cam for £19.99, a portable tyre inflator for £19.99 and a motorcycle cover for £10.99.”

Debbie Gibson, the store manager, said the upgrade will be worth the wait for Oswestrians.

She said: “The store is going to look fantastic.

“We will be really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as new customers and supplying our community with the everyday amazing products we have available.”
