TWO people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Oswestry last week have been released on police bail.

West Mercia Police confirmed on Tuesday, April 2, that the two people were released over the weekend after their arrest on Thursday (March 28).

The town was left stunned by the closure of Leg Street following the incident, which left a 47-year-old man in a serious condition and was airlifted to hospital in Stoke because of the extent of his injuries.

OTHER NEWS:

A second victim – a 35-year-old woman – was treated by paramedics at the scene after the stabbing, which happened at around 3pm.

There was a heavy police presence through the afternoon last week while paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

The town was left stunned by the incident.
