A VEHICLE colliding with a bus shelter in Ellesmere on Sunday led to one crew and other emergency services being called out.

One crew from Ellesmere was sent to Scotland Street at around 12.15pm on Sunday to make the car safe following the incident.

According to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), firefighters attended the scene with members of the police and ambulance services.

A spokesman said: “Crews used small gear to deal with the incident.

“Also at the scene of the incident were the ambulance service and the police.

“A road traffic collision involving one car in collision and a bus shelter – crew made vehicle electrically safe.”

A stop message was sent to SFRS control to confirm no further support was necessary around 15 minutes later.

A West Midland's Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC in Ellesmere at 11.54am on Sunday.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered one car had come off the road and collided with a bus stop.

"The driver, a man, and a female passenger were assessed by ambulance staff and did not appear to have serious injuries but were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessments."
