A WOMAN involved in a road traffic collision in Morda on Friday morning was airlifted to Royal Stoke Hospital with serious injuries.

A woman was involved in the collision with a hatchback vehicle in Trefonen Road, Oswestry at 6.58am with all emergency services called to the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed it sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

A WMAS spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff discovered a car that had overturned and the pedestrian, a woman, who had suffered serious injuries in the incident.

“They immediately began administering emergency care at the scene before airlifting the patient to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

“The driver of the car, a man, was assessed and discharged at the scene.”

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed it attended the scene at around 7.05am on Friday morning.

According to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s own logs, one crew from Oswestry was called to make the scene safe in Trefonen Road after a hatchback car was flipped upside down.

They added that 'no persons were trapped in the vehicle’ and firefighters remained at the scene for much of the morning.
