AN ELLESMERE artist will hold a month-long exhibition in Oswestry ahead of a partnership with a prestigious art publisher.

Bev Davies's work will appear at Oswestry Framing in Leg Street throughout the month of May.

But her success is about to take a giant leap when she teams up with The Art Group which will see her work sold in Europe and the United States.

Bev's journey has been followed closely by the Oswestry Framing team and Claire Davies from the business said they are pleased to be hosting the exhibition.

She said: "We are really excited about it and Bev has been a customer of ours for about four or five years.

"She started off as a customer doing local exhibitions.

"We sell work for Collier & Dobson - she has been really successful with it."

Claire added: "She has created a lot of work just for this exhibition as a thank you to us.

"It will be really nice and we are really looking forward to it."

Claire also said she was pleased to have followed the progress Bev has made.

"It has been such a pleasure to follow this journey," she said.

"She is about to be signed by another company, the Art Group. It is in the United States and is even bigger than Collier & Dobson."

She added: "To watch someone who was doing art for fun to become a published artist and watch her grow has been a real delight for us as a small picture framing company."

Claire explained that the exhibition will begin with a private viewing this Saturday before an open day takes place at the Leg Street shop on Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

She continued: "The exhibition will run for the rest of the month in the shop during normal opening hours.

"The whole of the shop is going to be taken over with Bev's work.

"So it will be a really nice exhibition."

Claire said that people had contacted her to say they would be coming to the exhibition.
