The New Saints brought the curtain down on another title winning JD Cymru Premier season with a 4-1 Park Hall victory against Connah’s Quay Nomads on Saturday.

Josh Daniels and Declan McManus each struck twice before former Saint Ryan Harrington scored a late consolation for the Nomads but it could do little to dampen the celebratory atmosphere as the champions lifted the Cymru Premier trophy following the final whistle.

The first chance of the match arrived with five minutes on the clock as Ryan Brobbel forced Andy Firth into a good save with a powerful strike from distance.

OTHER NEWS:

Leo Smith freed Brobbel to test Firth again after 20 minutes as the Saints continued to press and their pressure yielded reward after 35 minutes with Daniels slotting home Danny Davies' right wing cross.

McManus was denied by another fine save from Firth as the Saints ended the half on top.

The Scotsman opened his account 10 minutes into the second-half with a cool finish and it was all almost over on 64 minutes with Ben Clark dcnied by a goalline clearance with his first touch of the game following his arrival as substitute.

It was all over with 20 minutes remaining with Daniels drilling home before McManus completed the home side's tally late on and Harrington raised some visiting cheer with a last gasp consolation.
