ORGANISERS of an appeal to provide food and warm clothes to members of the community had said they need more donations to continue their work.

The Ellesmere Food and Warm Clothes Sharing Project was launched in December 2022 to help residents top up and to avoid waste from local shops with end of the day food sharing.

A spokesperson said the group needed support to continue.

They added: "We depend on local food and cash donations from the public and local businesses.

"We have a band of committed volunteers without which this project could not work.

"In order for this needed project to continue we’re desperately looking for a regular flow of cash to ensure we have funds to fill our shelves.

"I am trawling the internet for funding opportunities but they are thin on the ground for obvious reasons.

"Please can you find it in your hearts to set up a monthly contribution to give us the support that is sorely needed.

"If you can’t do that any donation big or small of cash or food will be gratefully accepted."

Their food store is open on Saturdays from 9am to 11am, on Tuesdays from 9am to 11am and 2.30 till 4.30pm, and on Thursdays from 9am to 11am.

You can also drop off food in JS Hair, the Co-op, Mere Motors Ltd, Blakemere Veterinary Centre or Criftins Parish Hall.
