TNS boss Craig Harrison was delighted with his side after they matched Bangor City’s record of 15 consecutive Welsh Premier League wins.

The defending champions and runaway league leaders came from behind to beat Carmarthen Town 4-2 on Friday evening.

Having now equalled Bangor’s five-year old record, Harrison hopes his team can set a new outright record by winning a 16th successive game, which will come against his former side Airbus UK on Friday.

He said: “We set goals and that is to win as many games as we can. On a number of different fronts I’m a very proud manager.

“We've got 15 league wins out 15 and 19 out of 19 in all competitions at this moment in time, which is a huge record.

“We want to win every game and every competition we’re in and that’s a standard we’ve set and over the Past two years we’ve won everything we’ve been in.

“It was a tough game. Carmarthen’s manager Mark Aizlewood is very good tactically, and they have a hard-working bunch of players.

“It’s a tricky pitch there at this time of year, and was probably the one place I didn’t want to go to equal the record. But the lads were fantastic – as they have been all season.”

A congested fixture list of late has seen the Saints compete not only in the league, but in domestic cups too.

Another successful campaign to date has seen the Saints reach the semi-finals of both the Nathaniel MG Cup and the Irn Bru Cup.

Harrison added: “We’ve done a lot of travelling during the week, and had a lot of late nights, but it’s a testimony to the professionalism of the players, and they deserve all the credit.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to equal the record of 15 league wins out of 15.”
