Mark Webster

MARK Webster believes the future is looking bright for his home town football club.

PDC ace Webster will be one of hundreds of Denbigh Town fans travelling to Llandudno’s Maesdu Park ground tomorrow (Saturday) to watch the Huws Gray Alliance club tackle holders The New Saints in the final of theWord Cup.

Kick-off for the final will be at 5.15pm and the match will be screened live on S4C’s Sgorio show.

“It’s good for the lads and it’s good for the town and the team,” said Webster looking ahead to the final.

“The team has been going in the right direction for a few years now.”

Denbigh have beaten three Welsh Premier League clubs on their impressive run through to the final, culminating in their fantastic 1-0 semi-final success at home to Gap Connah’s Quay.

However, Webster is under no illusions about how difficult the final will be versus six-time Word Cup winners The New Saints.

“It’s going to be tough,” he added.

“I watched them playing TNS in pre season and they were absolutely hammered.

“I think they have got to keep things tight, but it will be good for the lads to play in the final.

“TNS are full time and they train day in, day out and they have played in the Champions League.

“It’s going to be really difficult... but you never know!”

Webster thinks the future looks bright for Denbigh Town and he thinks the club will be in the Welsh Premier League eventually.

“I think they can (get to the Welsh Premier).

“It’s got to be done in stages, definitely.

“The ground is there and League of Wales sides have come to Denbigh and they have been impressed with the facilities.

“But it (the Huws Gray Alliance) is a difficult league to get out of and only one team can go up.”
