A CAR was on fire on a major road outside Oswestry on Tuesday morning, firefighters have said.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) firefighters from Shrewsbury were sent to the A5 Felton Butler roundabout, near Nesscliffe at around 5.20am on Tuesday morning.
A spokesman from SFRS said that nearly three-quarters of the car was involved in the fire which also spread to a nearby tree and hedge.
They added: “Crews used breathing apparatus, a hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.

“Also at the scene were the police.
“One car (involved) with around 75 per cent involved in fire which has then spread to tree and hedgerow.
“Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus two hose reel jets and one thermal imaging camera.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control around 40 minutes later to confirm no further assistance was required.
