THE leader of Shropshire Council will join members of both Ellesmere rural and town councillors at a special meeting next wee to discuss boundary locations.

Councillor Lezley Picton, the leader of Shropshire Council, will discuss the implications of boundary alterations on urban and rural communities at a public consultation meeting to be held at Ellesmere Town Hall on Tuesday, October 25 at 7pm.

Ellesmere Town and Ellesmere Rural Parish councils have been in discussions regarding the boundaries that they govern.

Each Council has looked at altering their existing parish boundaries and would like to present the proposed changes to local residents and answer any queries or concerns.

Cllr Picton will explain the impact of these changes and how they will feed into Shropshire Council’s Community Governance review.

Ellesmere town mayor, Cllr Anne Wignall, said the meeting is important for those wishing to learn more about the implications of any changes.

She added: "If you would like to find out more about these plans, I encourage you to come along to Tuesday’s meeting where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and take a look at the maps that show the changes that are being proposed.”
