Two found dead at derelict Oswestry building

Two people have been found dead at a derelict property in Oswestry.

Police were called to the former toll house on the junction of Maesbury Road and Weston Road at around 6.30pm last night.

They found the bodies of a man and a woman and the building and surrounding land, which has timber and a caravan on it, has been sealed off.

Forensic investigation officers remain at the scene this afternoon.

Inspector Jerry Coyd of West Mercia Police said an investigation is underway and the deaths are being treated as unexplained.

He continued: "Police can confirm an investgiation is underway relating to the deaths of a man and woman in Oswestry.

"Reports were received regarding the safety of two individuals yesterday evening at approximately 6.30pm and on attendance a man and woman were found deceased in a disused building on Maesbury Road, Oswestry.

"The deaths are being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
