Plans to turn a Gobowen traveller site into a holiday park have been revealed.
The change of use of land at Henlle Caravan Park on Henlle Lane will include the creation of 19 chalets or lodges, of which one will be a manager's lodge and office, plus on-site roads and parking space for up to 40 vehicles.
Applicant Mark Walker, of Walker Shepperd Construction Ltd, based in Oswestry, says the development will create two full-time and two part-time jobs.
A design statements says: "The chosen site is adjacent to existing leisure facilities, golf clubs, leisure centre, fishing, shops, pubs, restaurants, etc, and is on a national road system that makes this an obvious choice.
"The site is close to Oswestry town yet in a pleasant countryside location.
"There are many tourist attractions in the area in addition to Oswestry town."
It adds: "The proposal will help to support the local economy through increased custom for local services and boosting tourism attractions in the local area and beyond.
"The proposed development will provide additional accommodation in Shropshire and there is a significant evidence based to support a growing visitor and leisure economy within the UK and Shropshire in particular."
The site is currently occupied by Jerry Berry and his wife and children and the planning statement notes Shropshire Council has no alternative sites to offer the family.
A decision is expected from Shropshire Council planning officers by August 8.
